The Trillium Resort & Spa

The Trillium Resort & Spa is located in Muskoka, one of Ontario’s finest cottage areas. Trillium is 2 hours north of Toronto between Bracebridge and Huntsville.

The resort has been reserved for the entire weekend for the exclusive enjoyment of guests of the Scott wedding.

www.trilliumresort.com

Activities

The resort is located on a small Muskoka lake called Divine Lake. Canoes, windsurfers, paddleboats and kayaks are available for our use. The resort also has mountain bikes, a tennis court, a hot tub, an outdoor heated swimming pool and Finnish Sauna. For those more energetic individuals, a state of the art fitness centre is also located on the property.

Spa

The Trillium Spa is a separate and luxurious building also right at the resort. The Spa offers a full range of services by trained professionals. Spa services need to be booked directly with the resort, in advance. For further information and Spa rates see www.trilliumspa.com/html/services.htm

National Park

Algonquin's magnificent 7,725 square km of forests, lakes, and rivers are only a 30 minute drive away. The park has numerous trails of various lengths and degrees of difficulty. Undoubtedly, we will organize a walk or two over the weekend.

Golf

There are a number of options for individuals interested in getting a round in. There are several first class golf courses in the immediate area. If a shorter game is more to your liking, there is a small 9 hole course within a few minutes of the resort.

We are toying with the idea of arranging a mini-golf tournament. If you are interested in playing please let us know and at the very least we can connect all the golfers together.

Accommodations

The Trillium Resort has 18 individual cottages on the property, most are one bedroom units and a few have two bedrooms. All bedrooms have queen beds and each cottage also has a couch, unfortunately they are not "pull-outs".

It is our hope that all of our guests will stay on the property, enjoy being together and avoid having to drive over the weekend.

We expect to be able to accommodate all or the majority of our guests right on the property in these cottages, but the final arrangements will depend on whether everyone on the guest list attends.

In the event we exceed the sleeping capacity of the resort we have also reserved a lovely Bed & Breakfast, just a few minutes down the road and have a few other options up our sleeves.

One of our creative solutions to maximize the resort’s accommodations is to have the children sleep either on the couches or on air mattresses (the MacDonald family has several of these, accumulated over many years of camping). Given this solution, we have arranged for The Trillium Resort to not charge a room fee for the children.

The cottages are equipped with basic kitchenettes, however all meals have been arranged, so other than perhaps a coffee in the morning or for storing snacks or beverages you will not require their use.

Gifts

Our desire for our wedding is to have everyone enjoy a weekend of fun and time spent with each other. Ian and I both understand our friends and family will be going to considerable expense in both time and money to join us. Additionally, there is the real expense of staying at the resort of our choice.

Therefore, we request that you not purchase wedding gifts. We are not going to register anywhere and we hope everyone will honour our wish. Your presence is simply the gift we will cherish the most.

Cost

The rate we have negotiated with the Trillium Resort is $95 Canadian per person per night plus applicable taxes. In addition the resort will add an automatic 5% service charge to cover gratuities for the housekeeping and resort staff. Room charges are not applicable to children.

We hope everyone will be able to join us for both Friday, August 17th and Saturday, August 18th, but certainly understand some of our guests will choose to come up for Saturday night only.

There are no additional charges for the facilities of the resort with the exception of the services available at the Spa. Spa services need to be booked directly with the resort, in advance. For further information and Spa rates see www.trilliumspa.com/html/services.htm

Ian and Aileen have arranged to cover the costs of all meals during your stay.

RSVP

Step One

We ask that you reply with either your attendance or regrets by sending us an email at mail@scottsource.ca

We would appreciate your response prior to June 29th, 2001.

We understand that circumstances may dictate your inability to confirm your attendance within this timeframe. If this is the case please send us an email and just let us know, we would be thrilled to have you join us regardless of when you can confirm your plans.

Please indicate in your email to us, the names of who will be attending and whether you will be able to join us for both Friday and Saturday night or for Saturday night only.

Step Two

In addition to sending us an RSVP, we ask that you book your stay with the Trillium Resort as well. To do so please contact the Resort directly;

The Trillium Resort & Spa
Clearwater Lake Road,
Port Sydney, Ontario
P0B 1L0
Telephone: (800) 263-6600 (705) 385-1212
Fax: (705) 385-1283
e-mail: mail@trilliumresort.com

The Trillium Resort will require a credit card for your room charges. Only one credit card per couple or family or single is required. The resort will apply a deposit of $100 Canadian per card on July 18th, one month prior to the wedding. The balance of your applicable room charges will be applied to your credit card upon check-out.

Please note, the Resort will not confirm a choice of cottage at the time of booking. Upon confirmation of the final numbers, we will allocate the cottages.

Step Three

Whenever you finalize your travel plans please send us the details at mail@scottsource.ca.

Location & Map

Directions to the Trillium Resort can be found at www.trilliumresort.com/html/location.htm

Out-of Town Guests

In order to take full advantage of a relaxing weekend "up north", we hope our guests flying in will choose to arrive in Toronto on Thursday August 16th. Doing so will allow you to drive up to the resort on Friday morning.

In the peak of the summer season, there is guaranteed to be considerable traffic leaving the city late Friday afternoon. Therefore, the other advantage of leaving early Friday is it will allow you to avoid this traffic.

We will make every effort to either find a home (with local friends and family) or affordable hotel accommodation for our out-of-town guests for Thursday and / or Sunday nights. Additionally, we will likely be able to arrange for car pools or rides to and from the resort.

We will be more than happy to fine-tune all of these arrangements upon confirmation of when everyone is arriving.

For those individuals who have never been to Toronto, the city offers a considerable amount to see and do. Live theatre, great restaurants, roller blading, biking, the Science Center, the Canadian National Exhibition are all options at this time of year. Niagara-on-the-Lake, a quaint town amongst scenic wine country and Niagara Falls are only a one-hour drive away.

www.Toronto.com and www.torontolife.com are both useful websites to help plan activities.

Ian and I would welcome the opportunity to provide advice and to help arrange some city fun.
